4 Paint Colors Joanna Gaines Likes

If you are into home decorating, then you have probably heard of Joanna Gaines. She is married to Chip Gaines and both are featured on HGTV’s Fixer Upper. Together, they remodel and decorate homes for various families.

Joanna has a true sense of style and knows what looks good in a space. She recently released her own line of paint colors from Magnolia Home. Her colors are very versatile and can flow throughout the entire home, without looking busy or overwhelming.

Recently, Joanna revealed her favorite color choices in an interview with Popsugar. She described her feelings about each one and where they would be best used in the home.

Let’s take a look at a few of the colors choices and ideas that Joanna recommends:

Weekend

This denim inspired paint color reminds Joanna of “the calming blue of a retreat”. This shade makes her feel at home, relaxing like she loves to do on the weekends.

She suggests using this elegant jeweled tone color in the bedroom for a calming and serene feeling.

Weekend is a perfect color to use in intimate areas of the home. This color would also look lovely in an office or a reading nook, or as an accent wall.

Wedding Band

Joanna mentions that the paint shade Wedding Band was inspired by the color of her husband’s wedding ring. She feels that the color represents “promise and timelessness”.

Kitchen Design Center

This clean, fresh color is “silver gray colored and tinted with sky blue. As a result, it looks simply stunning paired with white door trim and baseboards.

She prefers to use fresh and clean paint colors in the bathroom, but this shade looks beautiful throughout the entire home. Consider adding this color to main living areas as well.

Shiplap With True White

A combination commonly used by Joanna, is to paint a “creamy, neutral white color on the walls, such as Shiplap and pairing it with trim color in True White.”

Joanna recommends using this duo of crisp and bright colors in high traffic, busy areas of the home. Shiplap works wonderfully in living rooms and kitchen areas. Since the color is very light and neutral, it provides a nice blank canvas for adding wall hangings and other accent pieces.

As quoted on her Magnolia Market website, Joanna feels that, “Shiplap always tells a story. This color is the perfect page for those kinds of traditional, colorful, classic stories to play out on.”

When it comes to True White, Joanna says on her website, “To me this represents purity. Something untouched. I love how raw and honest this color is. It allows anything near it to shine, contrasts but does not compete. It lets other colors near it have their moment. It’s selfless, and that’s what I really love about it.”

Joanna Gaines has proven time after time that her paint color choices can dramatically change the look and feel of a room. Therefore, if you are thinking about adding a pop of color to your home, then using the above colors will create a trendy new look.
