Caesarstone bench tops have become one of the hottest current trends in kitchen remodeling. Not only are they attractive, but they are also more durable than granite or marble.
These stunning bench tops are created from 93% high quality ground quartz aggregates, combined with small amounts of polymer resins that provide color pigments and binding.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the advantages of adding Caesarstone to your kitchen remodel or new construction:
Scratch and Chip Resistant
Caesarstone quartz is incredibly durable and won’t easily scratch, crack or chip.
Unplanned things sometimes happen while families are cooking. If by chance a heavy pot gets dropped on the counter, you won’t have to worry about it cracking or leaving a mark.
Since Caesarstone bench tops are non-porous, they won’t absorb grease, wine or other accidental spills which can cause discoloration. You can rest assure that your counter surface will look like new if cared for properly.
Another bonus to the non-porous trait, is that bacteria, mold and mildew cannot penetrate the surface.
Versatility of Design
The process of fabrication can create a number of designs, such as a seamless waterfall countertop, tables, sinks and many other surfaces.
Caesarstone products are covered by a lifetime warranty, though care instructions need to be followed to maintain the integrity of the bench top.
Now, let’s go over the best practices on how to care for your Caesarstone bench tops:
Since it is a non-porous surface, Caesarstone recommends cleaning bench tops by simply wiping down with soap and warm water or a mild cleanser. This will remove any stains from spills and will also revive the sheen to the surface.
The company also offers their own brand of cleansing wipes and spray cleaner, if you prefer. They are available here.
Do not use the same cloth that you use to wash your dishes or wipe off the stove. This will cause the oils, germs and bacteria that are on the cloth, to transfer to the surface of your bench top.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
The polymer bonds in the bench top can break down if harsh chemicals are used to clean the surface. Avoid applying oil soap, furniture polish, grill cleaner or anything that has a pH outside of 5-8.
How to Remove Adhered Materials
It is inevitable that things such as nail polish, gum or food will get stuck on the surface of your bench top. The recommended way to remove them, is to scrape away what is stuck to the surface with a sharp blade.
If there are any metal marks visible from scraping, use a 3M sponge on the blue side and rub Caesarstone Cream Cleanser over the marks until they are gone. Rinse the cleanser off with warm water to remove it.
Bleach is also another method of removing marks, but some bleach cleansers are harsher than others and may damage your bench top.
If something stronger, such as glue, silicone or paint get stuck on the surface, it is safe to use Methylated Spirits to remove it.
When you take into consideration the ease of cleaning, in addition to the durability factor, you can see why Caesarstone is an excellent choice for a family kitchen. It is not only beautiful but can withstand years of use. With proper maintenance, your Caesarstone bench top will last a lifetime.
Now that you are informed on the benefits and performance that a Caesarstone bench top can provide, you can discuss it further with an experienced designer. You can then go over any questions that you have as well as budget and other ideas for your kitchen remodel or new construction.
